Safety shoes are an essential element of foot protection in production. The main task is to ensure proper safety, to minimize the likelihood of production injuries. Depending on the field of activity, work shoes are equipped with certain protective elements and properties.

Anti-puncture insole - located between the inner layer of the shoe and the lining, provides effective protection of the feet from cuts and punctures. There are several types of anti-puncture insoles:

  • Metal - cover up to 80% of the foot, have a small thickness. As a rule, metal insoles are made from steel, less often from aluminum. These materials have high thermal conductivity and are capable of storing static energy.
  • Kevlar - made of waterproof polyamide-based textile material, cover 100% of the soles. This type of insoles has the same protective properties as metal, but at the same time Kevlar insoles have high flexibility and elasticity, and Kevlar material also has high thermal insulation properties.

Impact-resistant toecap - located in the nose of the shoe between the upper and the lining, protects the foot from impacts up to 200 Joules and squeezing up to 15 kN. The protective toe cap has 2 types:

  • Metal toe - a classic element of protection, made of steel or aluminum, due to which it has high heat-conducting properties. The metal toe cap is lightweight and does not take up much space inside. Under a shock load of up to 200 J, the toe cap is not deformed, over 200 J is crushed, and can damage the leg.
  • Composite toe cap is a modern piece of protection that is used for more aggressive working conditions. Made of carbon fiber, urePlastic or fiberglass. These materials are resistant to corrosion, have low thermal conductivity properties, so the composite toe can be used at any temperature conditions. At shock loads above 200 J, the toe cap breaks up into small fragments, which does not entail a high risk of injury.

Reflective inserts - increase visibility at night and in poorly lit areas. It is also worth noting that the inserts can be of any color, even black.
